Medical Position Opening

The Washington County Correctional Facility is seeking qualified licensed persons for full time medical position.  Persons must be capable of working in a high activity work environment and multi-tasking.  Functions include but are not limited to answering sick call requests and referring to facility physician for medical orders, handling/prepping medications, conducting health appraisals, and responding to medical emergencies.  Hours of work are Mon-Fri 9am-5pm with occasional after hour calls.  Qualified persons include certified/licensed paramedic level EMT, LPN, or RN.  For inquiry on this position contact Lt. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department is continually accepting resumes for the position(s) of Detention Officer and Deputy


These are typically full time salaried positions. Starting salary depends upon experience and includes benefits. You will receive training and work in a fast paced environment. You must be able to multi-task and will be challenged to continually learn and develop your skills. Your main responsibility will be to facilitate communication between citizens and multiple emergency agencies.


Detention Officer Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Have a valid driver's license and good transportation
  • Must pass a background test and drug testing
  • No felony or major misdemeanor convictions or domestic violence convictions
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • Must be able to work any shift

Field Deputy Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and a U.S. citizen
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Have a valid driver's license and good transportation
  • Must pass a background test and drug testing
  • No felony or major misdemeanor convictions or domestic violence convictions
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • Must be able to work any shift
  • Must complete the Basic Police Academy within timelines set forth by State Statute

Resumes can be dropped off at the Washington County Sheriff’s Department between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday located at 611 SW Adams Blvd Bartlesville Oklahoma.

In the event an opening in one of these areas comes open and you are selected to be interviewed you will be contacted by phone to set up a date and time for an interview.
